DUCTILE IRON PIPE
There are many different types of pipeline
materials to choose from, some of them are
manufactured for specific use and have
limitations, or require special bedding and
backfill materials. Ductile Iron is the only
material that can be used in virtually all water
and wastewater applications; it has a longer
proven track record than any other pipeline
material used in the industry today. Click image for technical data
For above and below ground use Ductile Iron requires no special installation, jointing equipment or preparation.
Used worldwide and in all climatic and environmental conditions Ductile Iron
is the pipeline material of choice; it is strong, durable, and environmentally
friendly giving a long and trouble free working life. |
DUCTILE IRON FLANGED FITTINGS
Flanged Ductile Iron pressure pipelines are
suitable for a wide range of applications such
as treatment plants, pumping stations and
rising mains. Rigid and self-anchoring, flange
joints give no provision for deflection,
therefore when changes in direction, or
blanking an end occur no external anchorage
is required.
Where a little flexibility to a flanged pipeline is required it is common
practise to use flange adaptors in the line.
The flanged joint offers a high strength and high-pressure capability
making a ductile iron pressure pipeline an ideal cost effective material when
used for the movement of sewage and water in above ground situations.
The range complies fully to BS EN 545:2002 for potable Water and EN 598
for sewage and wastewater applications. Standard corrosion protection is
as stated in these standards; however other coating options are available
on request.

DUCTILE IRON FABRICATED FLANGED PIPE
SCP can manufacture any configuration of Ductile Iron fabricated flanged
pipe to suit your specific requirements in nominal bore 80mm - 800mm and
up to a maximumlength of 5.2M.
All fabricated pipework is manufactured using K9 barrel as standard.
This service is particularly useful where pressure pipelines are installed above
ground such as water treatment plants, pumping stations and where flanged
pipe is needed to be made to exact lengths.
Where pipes need to be cast in concrete walls such as inlet and outlet
pipework, AiFu can apply a fixed puddle flange to any configuration of pipe.
This facility is available in both standards EN 545 for potable water and
EN598 for sewage and wastewater applications. Standard Flange Drilling is
PN16, but other variations are available.

DUCTILE IRON SOCKETED FITTINGS
The Ductile Iron Socketed joint is favoured for
below ground pipelines such as distribution
mains and sewage line applications.
Quick and easy to install, requiring no special
backfill the socket spigot joint is capable of
angular deflection and longitudinal withdrawal
without loss of performance. Other advantages
are high strength for assured security, able to Click image for technical data
operate at 60-bar pressure (Depending on
Nominal bore).
All pressure pipelines with this type of joint may require restraint particularly
where a change of direction or the blanking off of an end occurs, in these
instances the use of a concrete thrust block is common practise.
All Fittings are supplied with EPDM rubber sealing gaskets and comply fully
to BS EN 545:2002 for potable Water and EN 598 for sewage and wastewater
applications. Standard corrosion protection is as stated in these standards,
however other coating options are available on request.

HYDRO FLANGE ADAPTORS & COUPLINGS
Hydro Flange Adaptors
Flange Adaptors are used to join a plain-ended pipe to a flanged pipe, fitting
or valve giving an effective leak proof seal. They can accommodate a
considerable amount of deflection without loss of performance.
Harnessed flange adaptors used in conjunction with a flange spigot
(complete with a tie flange) are an excellent method for providing a
dismountable joint in a flanged pipeline. This is achieved by replacing four of
the bolts with tie studs. Where necessary the backing ring of the flange
adaptor is notched to give clearance for the tie studs.
Hydro Couplings
Couplings are used to join plain-ended pipes of the same material together;
some wide tolerance couplings can join different pipe materials. Couplings
offer a considerable amount of deflection, which makes them the ideal choice
for underground applications.
