Another Addition to the Fold

SCP is very pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Penny to the role of Technical Sales Manager for the product ranges of both Sigma Commercial Products and Jindal Sigma.

Andrew has spent some thirty years in the waterworks marketplace, and comes to SCP with a background in foundry production, a pedigree second to none, and experience gained with some of the UK’s top suppliers of Ductile Iron Pipe and Fittings.

Andrew will be based at SCP’s Technical Office in the East Midlands and will be working with Stewart Collier in his new role as UK Sales Director for SCP and Jindal Sigma.

 

Another Approval!

We at Sigma Commercial Products are proud to announce that our associates in the Jindal Sigma Joint Venture, Jindal Saw Limited, have been approved by the Secretary of State under Regulation 31 of the Water Supply (Water Quality) Regulations 2000.

Approval for Jindal Saw’s ductile iron pipe is included in the Secretary of State's List of Approved Products for use in Public Water Supply which may be found at http://www.dwi.gov.uk/31/approvedproducts/soslist.shtm

 

Progress to Progress Road.....

A new headquarters to house our future plans! Effective Monday 16 November, The SAL Group of Companies began operating from its new Corporate Headquarters at Progress Road, Leigh on Sea - less than a mile from our old offices in Britannia Business Park but affording far better facilities and road links.

Our new location, adjacent to the Southend Arterial Road and its route into London and the national motorway system via the M25, comprises 1,300 sq m of warehousing plus an office complex accommodating all existing sales and administrative functions and with ample spare room to fulfil our ambitious expansion. All this is set in 0.75 hectare or if you prefer, almost two acres.

Our warehousing and transport facility is still at Comet Way, Southend, and our switchboard telephone number hasn't changed. The full new address for Sigma Commercial Products, Sigma ASL and all the other group companies can be found on the "contact" page of this site.

 

Bigger and Better Things

As we’ve said before, here at SCP, we’re really building for the future, both literally and metaphorically. The refurbishment of our new corporate headquarters in Eastwood is nearing completion, and we expect all Essex-based staff to be located there, and Britannia Business Park vacated, by the middle of November.

As part of the ongoing strengthening of our sales and administrative teams, we are very pleased to announce the appointment of Stewart Collier, who joined us from St Gobain at the end of September as southern Area Sales Manager.

 

Kitemarking for Fittings

We are absolutely delighted to announce that following a year's worth of hard work on the part of Senior Director Steve Bartram in conjunction with Sigma's China Office, the British Standards Institute (BSI) has granted Sigma Commercial Products the use of their KITEMARK license which endorses the quality of our pipe fittings.

This means that our products can now bear the world-renowned KITEMARK as evidence of the fact that they have been manufactured and tested to the most stringent industry standards worldwide.

We believe that this makes us one of only three KITEMARK holders for pipe fittings in the UK - a very exclusive club indeed!
