Ductile Iron Flanged Fittings

Flanged Ductile Iron pipelines are suitable for a wide range of applications such as treatment plants, pumping stations and rising mains. Rigid and self-anchoring, flange joints give no provision for deflection, therefore when changes in direction, or blanking an end occur no external anchorage is required.

Where a little flexibility to a flanged pipeline is required it is common practise to use flange adaptors in the line.

The flanged joint offers a high strength and high-pressure capability making a ductile iron pressure pipeline an ideal cost effective material when used for the movement of sewage and water in above ground situations.

The range complies fully to BS EN 545:2006 for potable Water and BS EN 598:2007 for sewage and wastewater applications. Standard corrosion protection is as stated in these standards; however other coating options are available on request.

Ductile Iron Socketed Fittings

The Ductile Iron Socketed joint is favoured for below ground pipelines such as distribution mains and sewage line applications.

Quick and easy to install, requiring no special backfill the socket spigot joint is capable of angular deflection and longitudinal withdrawal without loss of performance. Other advantages are high strength for assured security, able to operate at 60-bar pressure (depending on nominal bore).

All pressure pipelines with this type of joint may require restraint particularly where a change of direction or the blanking-off of an end occurs; in these instances the use of a concrete thrust block is common practise.

All Fittings are supplied with EPDM rubber sealing gaskets and comply fully to BS EN 545:2006 for potable Water and BS EN 598:2007 for sewage and wastewater applications.  Standard corrosion protection is as stated in these standards, however other coating options are available on request.

Ductile Iron Rotating Flange Fittings

In addition to our range of fixed flange fittings SCP offers fittings with an adjustable rotating flanges. Available in sizes 80mm - 1000mm NB. The working pressure of the rotating flange fitting is the same as the standard fixed flange option, but with additional advantages:

  1. Ease of assembly
  2. Flexibility to orientate the pipeline on site
  3. Adjustment without the need of restrained flange adaptors
  4. 100% hydrostatically factory tested
  5. Interchangeable flange drillings

The standard corrosion protection system is blue WRAS approved fusion bonded epoxy to 250 microns, and the range complies fully to the dimensional and pressure test requirements of EN 545 : 2006.  All fitting dimensions are as series B.

Hydro 2 Flange Adaptors & Couplings
Hydro 2 Flange Adaptors

Flange Adaptors are used to join a plain-ended pipe to a flanged pipe, fitting or valve, giving an effective leak proof seal. They can accommodate a considerable amount of deflection without loss of performance.

Harnessed flange adaptors used in conjunction with a flange spigot (complete with a tie flange) are an excellent method for providing a dismountable joint in a flanged pipeline. This is achieved by replacing four of the bolts with tie studs. Where necessary the backing ring of the flange adaptor is notched to give clearance for the tie studs.

Hydro 2 Couplings

Couplings are used to join plain-ended pipes of the same material together; some wide tolerance couplings can join different pipe materials. Couplings offer a considerable amount of deflection, which makes them the ideal choice for underground applications.

The Sigma HYDRO 2 Range of Flange Adaptors and Couplings are manufactured to the highest standards and coated in blue WRAS approved fusion bonded epoxy to 250 microns offering easy and reliable pipe jointing with a durable long lasting corrosion protection system.

The ‘S’ range of Flange Adaptors & Couplings are available in sizes to suit 80mm-300mm NB pipes these are a mid range product suitable for PVC, Steel and Ductile Iron pipes. For sizes above 300mm NB we offer a dedicated range to suit Ductile Iron pipe only these are available in sizes 350mm-600mm. Standard flange drilling is PN16.

‘S’ Range Flange Adaptors and Couplings are capable of restraint as supplied, and do not require notching of the end ring. The W range of Hydro 2 Flange Adaptors and Couplings has a wide range and can accommodate most pipeline materials. The range is available in sizes to suit 50mm-600mm NB pipe.

Hydro 2 Resilient Seat Gate Valve offers quality and reliability along with high performance. The valve has full WRc approval, and the EPDM rubber seat is BS 6920 approved. The watertight seal make this valve perfect for all potable and clean water pipeline applications. Hydro Resilient Seat Gate Valves are 100% factory tested to the requirements of BS 5163-Body test at 1.5 x PN, Seat tested from both sides at 1.1 x PN. The standard internal and external corrosion protection system is WRAS approved fusion bonded epoxy to 250 microns.

SCP Stainless Steel Saddles

Made to the highest standards our Stainless Steel saddles are the ideal way to take a service connection from an existing or new water distribution main. The product is suitable for use on any type of pipeline material.

The saddle, straps and bolts are manufactured entirely of grade 304 stainless Steel.  All internal surfaces are bonded with WRAS BS 6920 approved Nitrile rubber suitable for all potable water applications. The rubber lining means that none of the stainless steel is in direct contact with the pipe ensures a firm none slip grip on the mounting pipeline, as well as a perfect watertight seal around the outlet at up to 16 Bar pressure. The saddles are available with one or two straps depending on the size of the outlet required, or the diameter of the mounting pipe.

Single Strap for pipe sizes 50mm-600mm NB
The finger bracket saddle incorporate a female threaded sleeve to accommodate the securing bolt, which means that only a single access point is required when fixing the saddle into position on the pipe. The stainless steel runs on a Delrin washer and the thread is coated in blue Teflon to prevent seizure.

Double Strap for pipe sizes 600mm-1000mm NB
On the double strap option the finger bracket saddle has a stainless steel threaded rod welded to it; again the thread is blue Teflon coated. To fit the saddle the threaded rod is passed though the mating hole on the strap and secured with a stainless steel nut and Delrin washer.

Sizes
The range is available in sizes to suit pipelines with a 50mm-1000mm NB with outlets from ¼-2½ inch BSP. Each saddle will accommodate many different types of pipeline material, having a wide radial tolerance of approximately 20mm depending on the diameter of the pipe.
